| Features: | Depth range of 15 to 80'. Numerous white to bluish white rings encircle head and body. Occur in the southwestern Gulf of California and Pacific Coast of mainland Mexico south to Ecuador. They inhabit rocky, boulder-strewn areas. Hide in holes, crevices and dark recesses; feed in the open during the day on mollusks and shelled crustaceans (crabs). They constantly open and close their mouths which is required for respiration. |
