Giant Hawkfish Common Gulf of California and southern Pacific Coast of Baja, Mexico mainland to Panama. Solitary. Inhabit rocky reefs, boulder strewn slopes and on walls. Remain still, perched on pectoral fins, blending with background, usually in shaded, somewhat recessed areas. Are curious and may come out to watch divers but dart away when approached. | |
