PADI Rescue Diver Specialty

"Challenging" and "rewarding" best describe the PADI Rescue Diver course. Using what you have already learned, and already know, this course builds on that foundation by teaching you how to prevent problems, and how to manage them if they occur. Most divers find this course demanding but very rewarding. Participants leave this course with a high degree of statisfaction at what they have accomplished. You have reached a point where you can reach beyond just helping yourself and reach out to help others.

The PADI Rescue Diver Specialty requires a diver have 20 logged dives to begin the training. Aquatic Sports and Adventures will provide a Rescue Diver Crewpak to each student. This contains the PADI Rescue Diver manual, an accident management workslate, and a pocket mask artificial respiration barrier. The materials are yours to keep.

Students read the manual, watch a video, complete knowledge review questions, take a final exam and complete 5 dives over 2 days. The course takes 3-4 days to complete.

You will learn:

• Self rescue
• Recognizing and managing stress in other divers
• Emergency management and equipment
• Rescuing panicked divers
• Rescuing unresponsive divers

Prerequisites:

• You Must Be 15 years or older
• Have a PADI Advanced Open Water Diver certification (or have a qualifying certification from another organization)
• Have at least 20 logged dives
• Be trained and current for first aid and CPR within the previous two years (Ask about Emergency First Response CPR and first aid courses).
