Digital Underwater Photographer (DUP)

This class can be done in a few hours over 1 or 2 days depending on which type of class you take. Digital Underwater Photographer is one of PADI's most exciting and popular classes. If you enjoy photography or want to experience it, this is an opportunity for you!

Underwater photography is one of the most popular diving activities today. With the current availability of new digital camera systems underwater photography is easier and more fun than ever. This course can be taken by snorkelers (Level 1) or certified divers (Level 2). The Level 2 course includes all of the Level training.

The PADI Digital Underwater Photographer course at Aquatic Sports and Adventures gets you going quickly with modern digital equipment. Using the PADI SEA method you learn to Shoot, Evaluate and Adjust your photos. The Level 2 course includes additional classroom time in analysis and the use of tools to work with digital images. We use SeaLife camera and strobe systems for training.

Prerequisites:

• You must have a PADI Open Water Diver or Junior Open Water Diver certification (or have a qualifying certification from another organization) for Level 2 (Scuba)
• Be 12 years old for Level 2 certification
• You need some snorkel experience for Level 1 (Snorkel)

Ways to take this class:

DUP Level 1 Course with Aquatic Sports and Adventures and you will receive a PADI Digital Underwater Photographer manual which is yours to keep. This class is available to snorkelers. It consists of a classroom session to introduce camera systems followed by either a snorkel dive or a scuba dive using a digital camera. Students look at their images after the dive. Students completing Level 1 qualify for the Digital Underwater Photographer Level One certification card that clearly states that it is a non-diving certification.

DUP Level 2 Course with Aquatic Sports and Adventures and you will receive a PADI Digital Underwater Photographer manual which is yours to keep. This class is available only to certified divers. It consists of two classroom sessions followed by a dive. The second classroom provides access to a computer for downloading and viewing the images you shot and work with image processing software. Students completing Level 2 qualify for the Digital Underwater Photographer Specialty certification card.
